Title: Akeldama

Why did we chose 'Akeldama' as our title for our film?

  • The word 'Akeldama' is the Aramiac name for 'Field of blood' which would fit perfectly with the genre and plot of our film.
  • It relates to Judas Iscariot which would indicate the use of 'betrayal' and anomie (lack of values of norms and good behaviour) in our film where the 'victims' fight each other to the death in order to win where the prize is their own/family's lives.

History behind 'Akeldama'

  • 'Akeldama' is the name for a place in Jerusalem which is associated with Judas Iscariot (who was a follower of Jesus but betrayed him).
  • Judas bought the field with money he received for betraying Jesus.
